Meet Kevin

Dear Neighbor,

Since joining the state Senate in 2023, I’ve focused on issues that Michiganders in our communities care about - securing better funding for our students and teachers, lowering costs for everyone, and supporting our first responders to build safer communities.

Since getting elected, I have worked in a bipartisan way to solve real problems for our communities: cutting taxes, budgeting the largest per-pupil funding increase in state history, securing funding to protect Lake St. Clair, and so much more.

The very first bill I introduced was to repeal our state’s retirement tax, helping nearly 500,000 seniors save $1,000 annually. I was also proud to work with my colleagues to pass historic tax relief for working families, quintupling the state Earned Income Tax Credit to help 700,000 residents save an average of $3,150 per year.

Throughout my time in the State Legislature, I've been focused on driving targeted investments to our community to make much-needed improvements to our clean water infrastructure. Over the past several years, I've worked on a bipartisan basis with local officials such as Macomb Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller to make major investments in our lakeshore district to reduce combined sewer overflows, proactively address aging infrastructure, and protect local waterways.

Looking ahead, I’m committed to continuing this work to create a Michigan where every individual can achieve their American Dream, an American Dream that can begin right here in our communities.

Sincerely,
