Issues

Education

Kevin recognizes the pride and dedication that Michiganders hold for their public schools. That’s why he championed legislation and secured investments to:

Infrastructure

Kevin knows that our crumbling infrastructure is in need of upgrades and repairs. That’s why he worked to bring $90 million back to the region, including:

  • $72 million for improvements to the Chapaton Retention Basin in St. Clair Shores, aimed at reducing combined sewer overflows into Lake St. Clair by 40%.
  • $5 million for the Chesterfield Interceptor to repair aging infrastructure and avoid catastrophes like sinkholes.
  • $5 million for the St. Clair Shores Martin Drain District to prevent wastewater overflows that contribute to beach closures and harmful algae blooms in Lake St. Clair.
  • $2 million for New Baltimore to protect the shoreline with breakwall repair at Walter and Mary Burke Park.
  • $2 million for Harsens Island for critical updates of the batch wastewater treatment plant to protect waterways, improve residents’ quality of life, and boost small businesses in the Sans Souci community.
  • $1.5 million for Mount Clemens to make much-needed updates to its aging sewage treatment infrastructure.
  • $1.5 million for a regional water monitoring program to improve the detection of contaminants in our water.
  • $1 million to repair seawalls in Grosse Pointe Shores, helping prevent flooding and shore erosion.
Lake St. Clair

Kevin is a champion for natural resources like Lake St. Clair, and knows that is it deserves all of the protection we can give it.

  • Helped repeal Michigan’s “no stricter than federal” law to reinstate the state’s ability to go beyond minimum federal standards and defend our natural resources, including lakes, rivers, and streams, from PFAS and other contaminants.
Jobs and Opportunities

Kevin is a tireless advocate for Michigan’s hard-working, everyday families.

  • Repealed the state retirement tax, helping nearly half a million seniors save $1,000 annually.
  • Made major investments to lower child care costs and expand affordable preschool for four-year-olds, helping families save $10,000 annually.
  • Secured funding for the Housing and Community Development Fund, supporting safe, affordable housing for veterans, seniors, and working-class families.
  • Health Care: Improved Medicaid coverage, including full coverage for childbirth and expanded care centers and services for Michigan families.
